COMMUNITY

Before travelling in the virtual community concepts, in is very important to have a look on the definition of community.

We human beings have often been referred to as social animals. Community is a very important aspect of our life. According to Fernback and Thompson (n.d.), Cooley (1983) said that all normal human have a natural affinity for community. In fact, we must relate to each other for our survival. He added that the primary factor that inhibits the formation of communities is that they are difficult to organise.

The “structural process that is associated with community is communication” (Fernback & Thompson, n.d.). Without communication, there can be no action to organize social relations.

Traditionally, ‘community’ was represented by geographic locality where relationships were mediated through the face-to-face communication of its members.
Actually, the online world of computer mediated communication is one of those new ways for humans to relate to one another, and it is growing rapidly.
